QR 93.2 billion have been allocated for construction projects in Qatar

Landscaping and redesigning the public realm of Qatar is becoming a huge focus this year as Qatar prepares for the FIFA world cup 2022.
The Ministry of Finance Qatar has announced QR 93.2 billion of the 2017 budget for mega-project works. This increased investment includes public spaces including waterfront, public parks, green spaces and pedestrianized zones.
Future Landscape & Public Realm Qatar is a specialised conference that will be held on 30-31 October 2017 in Doha, Qatar to support the development of the public realm to position the nation as an attractive hub for local and international investors.
Projects with active public realm investment include:
- Doha Expressway Programme: a part of Ashghal’s road development plan
- Lusail city ($ 45 billion) a new build city with public realm features to ensure quality of life
- Msheireb Downtown Doha Project (QR20 billion) that includes public spaces designed for relaxation that celebrate Qatari heritage
- Doha Metro will conduct urban landscaping of the areas around the station entrances
