Indoor street art

Street art should exclusively adorn streets, right? Well, not anymore if you ask the creative force behind the design firm called Substance. Thanks to their brilliant ideas, this type of “rebellious” visual art meets the concept of luxurious yet unpretentious interior in a French fine dining restaurant in Hong Kong.

The restaurant is known as Bibo, and its walls are decorated with a number of works and installations signed by some of the most prominent names in contemporary and street art. The pieces by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Banksy, Mr Brainwash, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, and many others were brought together not only for aesthetic reasons but also as a proof of these artists’ mutual aim – to use and interpret art in an unconventional way. And it is clear that the goal was successfully reached.

Substance is a company based in Hong Kong, Paris and Stockholm. Its creative team provides design and branding services, and their innovative ideas never cease to impress. That being said, Bibo is not their only culinary venture, and, even though it is difficult to choose just a few, we would still pick out Burger Circus, La Vache, and The Krug Room as some of their most unique gastronomy projects.
